Dr Jeremy Bennett is founder and Chief Executive of Embecosm, a provider of services, tools and models for embedded software development.

He was previously Vice President of ARC International plc, the world leader in configurable processor technology, following its acquisition of Tenison Design Automation. Dr Bennett had been CEO and Chief Technology Officer of Tenison, an EDA company specializing in tools for Electronic System Level (ESL) design between 2002 and its acquisition in 2007.

Until 2001, Dr Bennett was Vice President, Solution Sales at Marconi PLC, having previously held posts in marketing and engineering management. At the time Marconi was the largest British engineering company, and Dr Bennett led the introduction of Unified Modeling Language (UML) design methodologies and later agile programming into Marconi's main software development processes.

For nine years from 1986, Dr Bennett was on the faculty of Bath University School of Mathematical Sciences, where he pursued research interests in automated computer instruction set design and compiler technology. He is the author of Introduction to Compiling Techniques (McGraw-Hill 1990, 1996, 2003).

Jeremy Bennett holds a MA and PhD from Cambridge University, England. He is a Member of the British Computer Society, Chartered Engineer, Chartered Information Technology Professional and Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
